If you know us at all, you know that we like to move fast. So when we got our 3 Mini Nubian goats we knew we wanted to try to breed them this year for spring kids. This is where Facebook comes into play. We don't have a buck yet. We really just don't have the infrastructure as of now to keep a buck away from the girls most of the year. So I turned to my Facebook goat group and met a woman I will affectionately refer to as Kay. Kay has a GORGEOUS Mini Nubian buck named Rip. (Yes, like from Yellowstone) He has amazing moon spots all over his body and he is so sweet. I knew that Rip would be a good match for our most mature doe... Bambi.
Meet Bambi! She is our most recent addition to the herd. She came from a farm on the east side of the state. She is a lovely girl. Everyone who knows about goats tells me her confirmation is great. (I have to trust them as I'm still learning what to look for in a goat) She is a little timid at times but if you have treats she is a big baby!
I will be checking with Kay to see if she minds if I brag about her handsome guy Rip... but until I know if I can post a picture, just know he's a stunner.
Because of these breeding dreams, Bambi is staying over at Rip's barn for a few weeks. We dropped her off yesterday and its crazy how different the farm feels without her. We cant wait to see some kids this spring!
Stay tuned for Bambi's pregnancy updates and all the cute kid pictures!
